We are now looking for a head of the site and logistics unit who wants to take responsibility for and contribute to building the operation of our critical community services.

You will lead the work with our facilities, field service, and logistics solutions, becoming a key person in the development of both our existing systems Rakel, SGSI, and WIS, as well as the next generation of secure communication systems – SWEN (Swedish Emergency Network).

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

As a head of our unit, you are responsible for operations, personnel, and budget. As the head of the unit, you will be part of the management group of the operations organization, where you actively contribute to developing and strengthening our operations organization both strategically and operationally.

As a head, you are responsible for driving the unit's issues at a strategic and operational level together with your employees. You will lead and steer based on the unit's, department's, and authority's goals and employee and leader criteria. Your role includes collaboration both internally within MSB and externally with other organizations.

You will be responsible for a unit tasked with ensuring the physical conditions at our sites, data centers, and exchange locations. This involves working with field service at installation sites regarding new establishment, changes, troubleshooting, fault correction, and maintenance of installation sites such as hardware replacement, periodic maintenance, installation, and new construction, as well as backup power, UPS, physical security systems, and climate systems.

Your Knowledge and Competence

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant academic education or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer.
• Experience as a manager and leader.
• Experience in the management and maintenance of IT operational environments and data centers.
• Good ability to speak and write fluently in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience leading change.
• Knowledge of security protection and experience working in a classified environment.
• Experience from critical community operations.
• Experience working within a government authority.

As of January 1, 2026, the current employee and leader criteria will be replaced by the Authority for Civil Defense's approach for employees and leaders: The approaches apply in everyday life, crisis, and war. The three approaches should be seen as a whole and build on each other; collaborative – proactive - action-oriented.

We are looking for someone who is structured and can plan and organize work effectively, is calm, stable, and controlled in stressful or pressured situations.

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period and a fixed-term managerial appointment for four years.

Your place of employment will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may occur as part of the position.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Typically, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at MSB are designated for military service.

About Us

The site and logistics unit is responsible for the organization's facilities (sites), regarding both infrastructure, field service, and related logistics. Furthermore, it includes operation, optimization, maintenance, and implementation of the long-term technical development of various transmission solutions, ensuring physical conditions for sites and exchange locations, as well as for new establishment, changes, and maintenance of installation sites.
